COMFORT CLOTHING

When it comes to January fashion, I'm drawn to cozzzzy. Who am I kidding? Most of my clothing year round is all about being cozy. My go to comfort outfit is leggings (if I'm at home, it's my lulus..if I'm going to see people other than James and Coco, it's my zara leggings...and yes I referred to Coco as "people"), a long t-shirt and an oversized cardigan. I recently read someone referring to these as coatigans but that word kinda freaks me out. I bought one of these oversized cardigans last June and it has been a dream. Oh, you are as cozy as a robe AND are fashionable? Sign me right up. I may have purchased the striped one in Seattle over the weekend. You can never have too many oversized cardigans, riiiiiggght?

Do you have a go to comfort outfit? I'd love to know!

over and out,

BUY MY WEDDING DRESS

Laura+James - High Res-424.jpg

If you're a newlywed gal, you've most likely been faced with the choice to sell your wedding dress or keep it. Perhaps you have a major big closet to store it in. Perhaps you like to try it on from time to time (no judgement…). Perhaps you think your daughter will wear it one day. If you can relate to those three things, then you should keep your dress. But me…well I don't have a large storage closet (my dress takes up a third of it), I haven't tried it on since I wore it that beautiful day and I wouldn't bet on my future daughters wearing my dress (poufy princess dresses aren't everyone's cup of tea)

I know I'm biased but I ADORED my dress. There are not many times where you can get away with dressing like a freaking disney princess. The moment I put it on, I knew it was mine. It was magical and it wasn't out of my price range (here's a tip all you dress hunting brides to be…don't try dresses on that are out of your price range)! It was super comfortable and even though it was quite large, I was able to go in a rowboat, climb a tree fort and jump rope (oh those crazy things those wedding photographers make you do…jk we had the best photographers and you should hire them..love you ameris!)

The time has come for someone else to experience the magic (and for my storage to grow..ha). I had the best day of my life in this dress, now it's time for someone else to. So if you're looking or know someone who is looking, you can find it on usedvic here! (And no judgement if you pull a Liz Lemon and buy it with no man in sight…it is an exceptional deal...)

WARDROBE // 2

Welcome to the second post in my wardrobe series. This is a series that I LOVE doing, mainly because it's one that James has agreed to do with me. I am very thankful I married a man who a) is in support of my dreams b) loves fashion. Because of those two things, he doesn't mind coming to take pictures even though it's freeeezzzing cold outside.

hope you all had an amazing Christmas! mine was very low key with ALOT of family time and eating…delightful.

we had our first 11pm Christmas eve service and it was so beautiful. as you know, my preferred bed time is 10pm BUT some things are worth staying up for….like singing silent night at 11:59pm…breath taking.

can’t believe it’s almost 2014! today i’m bringing you some inspiration to wear while ringing in the new year…

FALLING AWAY WITH YOU

back in july, local photographer, amy gary contacted me about getting together for a photoshoot. our summers were both insane and believe it or not, the first date that worked for us was the first saturday of october (crazy, i know!!)

amy is one of those photographers who really has it all. she communicates exceptionally, giving you direction without being too commanding AND truly has that creative eye. we felt comfortable with her behind the camera and were confident that she was going to bring amazing images. we’re beyond stoked with the results! all you brides to be should book her before her summer dates fill up! (be sure to check out her smugmug!!)
